Any experiences playing this as solo? I know it's a CDG game so I expect difficulties but I have had some mixed success playing 2 player games as solo. Just wondering if there are any factors that would hinder solo play.
It is easy to play solo if you want a historical game. Whenever the Austrians have a decision to make, take the worst of the two. Allow the Prussians to mobilize and concentrate, while the Austrians parade about. Then put the worst possible commanders in charge of the Austrians. That should pretty much give you a historical result. :shake:
On a more serious note, I have played this solo several times. The one event that matters most is when The Declaration of War begins. I take this, and the Last Minute Peace Initiative card out of the game. I then roll at the start of each turn. On turn one, if I roll a ‘1-2’ war starts at the end of the turn. Then, each turn I add one to the range and roll again. If no war by the end of turn four, it starts as normal.
This does prevent a little bit of suprise, but is a method to allow for getting from one phase to the other.
