Hi - just coming back to this game after a while of not playing, downloaded the updated / living rules and the overrun rule has been replaced by rout. the problem is I don't understand how it works - it completely confused me - in particular how you calculate a force's combat factor if it's the first turn and Seeing the Elephant messes with all the combat values.

Can anyone put it in layman's terms? Or should I just stick with the original rules?

Thanks!

Andy

Rout is always based upon the final combat value of the forces involved, so with "Seeing the Elephant" in play, you work out combat values for the commanders using die rolls, apply the effects of any cards played for battle, and factor in any ESP expenditure.
