Hey everyone,

I posted in the Southeast region forum a few months ago regarding the development of an idea for an LFG app. The app is intended for people who have a hard time finding others that share their interests and for whom Meetup doesn't really work. The idea is simple - enter your location, interests, and availability, and get grouped into events with others in your area whom you match with.

We're finally at the point where we have a simple working prototype that does the following:

1. Securely logs you in (requires a Google account),
2. Allows you to set up your profile with location, interests, and availability,
3. Presents you with your matching interest groups, and
4. Provides links to GroupMe chat groups based on interest and availability.

The goal of the prototype is to get you into these GroupMe groups. At that point, you'll be able to chat with a group of locals who share your interests and hopefully are willing to get together for an event.

We'd like to request that you try out the app and provide us feedback. You may experience long loading times, but please be patient. PLEASE NOTE: you will likely not immediately see results when you first sign up because there is a minimum threshold of users that you must match with before an interest group is created. So you may need to check it again after a day or so.

Right now, we are focused on testing in Roanoke, VA and Miami, FL. If you do not reside in either of those areas, you can still use the app, but in order to be matched and see results, you will have to share it with others in your area.

Any questions, feel free to respond here or ping us on GroupMe.

Happy Grouping!

Yeah that was part of the research phase for this project, although I wasn't aware of BGG's feature. I'll check it out, thanks.
