hello.
I dont own breakthrough and have been trying to find out exactly what the difference is. It seems it is offering larger boards to play on.

Can someone tell me, is it larger hexes? I think not, as then we'd all need breakthrough size terrain.

So is it just more hexes? Does that mean then that you can only play new scenarios on these boards? Or do the original scenarios have a re-designed set-up to fit these boards?

Anything else that is different?

thanks!

edit: typo.

thanks. that helps to visualise. So its almost twice as deep (from 47cm to 85cm) but just as wide (70cm).

Appreciate the help.

Out of interest... since Overlord is played by placing 2 boards, to expand the WIDTH of the board, is there potential to play breakthrough-overlord... double the depth and width?

Pure mathematics is the world's best game. It is more absorbing than chess, more of a gamble than poker, and lasts longer than Monopoly. It's free. It can be played anywhere - Archimedes did it in a bathtub

The increase depth also made the game deeper as there are more room for manuever and bigger encounters (more units to sucesfully move and coordinate or not).
There is also a different deck recommended for breakthough that allow for move actions (units move but not fire) ie again more decisions. Im very glad to have got this expansions and rarely play standards scenarios anymore (they look too little now)
