#1 You always have players at home to play your favourite legacy game
#2 You have someone with lots of free time to paint your Gloomhaven miniatures

Here are a couple of pictures of our last game with painted Gloomhaven heroes. One of them is the "2 miniatures" hero, hence the spoiler tag. We pimped the game with miniatures from Conan and Zombicide Black Plague. My oldest son also used some Warhammer 40k spare parts to build a small

only after the kids have leveled up some.
prior to that, they tend to lead to lots of missing game components, bent cards, and spillage of liquids, food, and other substances on gameboards can be a fairly regular occurance.

Agreed The first two child-raising scenarios (infant and terrible twos) are the hardest, but that’s because it takes a bit to get used to your newly unlocked Parent class abilities.

I think the intro (infant) scenario wasn't too difficult, despite the permanent sleep deprivation scenario effect.

The next scenarios, "terrible twos" (x2 in my case) and "toddler monster" are way more difficult, due to the complete unpredictability of the toddler monsters. And though battle-worn, I don't feel like I've unlocked enough of these so-called "Parent class abilities". Though the recent items purchased at the shop, "iPad" (+1 distraction to toddler monsters) seems to help immensely. These at least buy time until I can convert Toddler Monsters to the Hero/Player side. Still though, the "-6 to Game-playing time" scenario effect until that conversion happens is a real morale-killer.
