So we started creating a game a few months ago and we have finally got the core mechanics down so that it seems balanced but not a stale-mate. The general idea of the game is 1vs1/1vs2/1vs3 asymetrical lane war. So if it is 1 vs 1 then there is one lan which both focus on. 1 vs 2 two lanes but the one player can focus either where the other players focus on primarily one. And you know the jist for 1 vs 3. So with theme relation we were thinking 3 bad guys vs 1 good guy, or 3 good guy's vs 1 bad guy for the first set and then expand for the same theme reversed for the 2nd set. Just not sure if should start 1 good vs 3 bad for first set. Or 1 bad vs 3 good for first set.

Sounds pretty good, we currently have the players running a "warrior" "archer" and "vanguard" and the "boss player" running weak creatures mid tier creatures and mini boss creatures. We haven't given distinctions to the types of units yet for sure though lol.

If you want to go fantasy, have it to be a witchhunter or bountyhunter.
... or it could be the "boss fight", from the final/level bosses perspective.

Only part we are worried about is we dont want to make magic the gathering per say and we would like it to be deck builder and competitive if possible.

Re: Need advice on "theme-ing" please.
Here is the current "rule set" probably not the greatest wording so i do apologize;
Game from store
Funnel system using Enemy vs Players
In funnel system 3 tier system Grand Great Good if a unit or building would be placed it can only be placed in its toer system or before that never lower. So a grand may only be placed in grand a great can be placed in great and grand and so on.
The enemy draws cards equal to the ammount of players.
4 card types
Boss monster current 4 possible 6+
Wither perminant on players currently not on boss monsters.
Currently class system
Warrior - *Brute*
Archer - *Brace*
Vanguard - *Charge*
Magic spells *Quick*
Equipment *Loot*
Key words = "* *"
*Richochette* - if archer cant do more than or equal to half of monster health it bounces off
*Charge* - Move forward and deal damage before reciveing damage.
*Brute* - Prevent 1 damage that this creature would receive during this turns combat.
*Quick* - Player casts a spell focused in their lane to aid their advance.
New rules. 1/6/18
Enemy boss unit fighter sword = double strike for that units power Mage = 1 suicide damage after death.
Players turn: Draw step, Play Step (Each player may do 1 reaction on their turn and one on enemies turn) , Movement Step, (Can move each troop in a room one space forward unless played during that turning.), Attack Step, End turn
**Locked in Combat** - If two opposing forces are in the same room at the start of the turn, they deal damage to each other. This will not subtract from a players decleration for attack step. They are prohibited from movement this turn.
Enemy Turn: Draw Step (1 card per Player), Play Step (Takes 1 action per player count, Takes one reaction during own turn 1 during the players turn(Within the first 2 blocks olnearest to player low level only can be placed, within the 3rd - 6th block medium level can be placed and mini boss must be placed adjacent to 7th block before able to move into it)), Movement Step ( A mini boss can not move when first summoned, afterwords can move one space forward but never combines with other troops. Troops may move one space forward only all together or one single troop piece unless that troop has be summoned this turn.), Attack Step (This step can be similar to a move step however a troop or mini boss that has moved during move step can not move to declare attack this turn.), End turn.

Re: [WIP] New LCG in the works.
Sounds interesting! One bit of advice -- start calling it an ECG or XCG (extendable card game). LCG is a trademarked term from FFG, so the sooner you stop using it, the better. Unless you have a massive publishing arm behind you, I'd also encourage you to think about a dominion-style large-release schedule rather than the regular release model of the ECG. If people know they're getting a full game in a box the buy in will be better.
James Mathe has a really good analysis of the CCG market that makes these points more intelligently than I can. http://www.jamesmathe.com/to-ccg-or-not-to-ccg-that-is-the-q...

Re: [WIP] New LCG in the works.
Thanks a bunch makes a lot of sense, and yes ill call it ECG didnt realize that was coined by them lol. Appreciate it. Also yes it is our general agreement so far to release as a full set each time so the consumer knows what they get ahead of time.
