We love this game and play a game or two every week.

To mix things up a bit, we've created a fun "Fate Deck" variant where we've sleeved a bunch of plot cards and created a randomized deck. Each round, after we resolve our own plots, we reveal the top card from this Fate Deck and perform its "When Revealed" action (ignoring the numbers). Obviously not all plot cards would work, but there are some fun ones like Marched to the Wall (each player discards a character) and Fortified Position (blank text boxes) and Trading with the Pentoshi (+3 gold for everyone) and Ghosts of Harrenhal (top dead character returned to play). There are so many relevant and fun ones.

We've also taken the liberty to interpret "you" as "each player" for some cards. For example, with Sneak Attack ("YOU cannot initiate more than one challenge") or A Clash of Kings ("After YOU win a power challenge, steal an extra power").

To keep it from being too chaotic, about a quarter of the deck is blank (some cards are just turned around in the sleeve so they show the backing)... and when these are drawn, nothing happens.

This helps make it a little bit more like watching the show -- you do your best to plan for everything as you prep for battle, but something always comes up and screws over the playing field. :)

This has added a good deal of variety and intrigue to the game for when we want to shake it up.

(Next trying to scheme up a White Walkers variant where you can play co-op against a machine that attacks, does random damage, and steals your characters when they die.)

This is the end; hold your breath and count to ten; feel the earth move and then; hear my heart burst again
