So, I don't see anything in the rules about proper conduct between team members. As a frantic team game, it seems like discussing numbers is the point of having teams, otherwise everyone might as well have the fastest person play all the cards.

In our playthroughs we've noticed that it's straight up frustrating to get pairs without looking. Basically people are yelling out numbers, or with the engine fire card, yelling out numbers and colors and rarely get a match. (A team of two with engine fire active has 20 options for each card, hard to find a match!)

Is the intent that there is furious yelling about engine cards through the subsequent rounds, or is it that once you are considering engine cards, you can tilt your hand forward and share your hand?

Further, do you usually sit next to teammates or across from them?

Thanks!

You should sit next to each other.
(see page 2: "SETUP
1. Place the board in the center of the playing surface. Members of
each Crew will need to sit together.")

According to the designer you may talk about your cards but are not allowed to show them.

Yes, that is all correct. You can talk about the cards you have, but can't show them.
