A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?
Posting this for awareness:
There is a regular group that meets every couple months to play wargames. Not all hex and counter stuff, but a nice mix of traditional and contemporary games.
We usually meet on the University of Ottawa Campus or a meeting room near Booth and Albert.
The next meetup is on Saturday. Details below:
Saturday, January 13 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
170 Booth Street - Basement Meeting Room (Ring #2000)
Bring your favourite war game to play.
New players and members welcome.
Free admission. Light lunch will be served.
For those that attend regularly, a $10 yearly membership is requested that help covers the cost of the lunches and room rentals. It's quite a bargain and the membership gives you a 10% discount at Funagain II downtown.
I just so happens that membership renewals at this session, so if you like your experience it's an excellent time to jump right in.
The group has a facebook group and a more "old-school" Yahoo group. If you're interested, feel free to join both, as this is where announcements are posted and where people setup games they'd like to play.
