If you fail to solve the callenge of a time anomaly "location" card (ex dalek invasion of earth), do you discard the time anomaly or does it stay in play until you resolve it ?

The torturous Time Anomaly cards all stay in play (except the ones that specifically say otherwise) until you fulfill/complete/defeat them.

They get really… fun …when you get several in play at once….

Especially when you get one that needs 7 dice, and the next one removes 3 red dice and the third one reduces your dice pool to 6.

Yes! We had all of our red and all of our green locked up (thankfully, we had liberated some of the red), and double-extermination from Daleks, and 2 Daleks on a lovely 7-die Location/Dilemma combo. With some lateral thinking, a little divine wrath, and some other good fortune, we eventually whittled away at our woes (and the rapidly accumulating Daleks), and even finally solved the nasty 7-die problem.
