With Trigirl being this lock consensus good read for so many people, I find it really bizarre that she's alive. Just don't lock clear her for tone. There's a threshold where if she's still alive she should probably just be murdalated.

Introducing our next Wolf of the Week, cvb!

cvb came to us towards the end of last year, but he pretty much immediately dove into some of the more complex and thematic games that we have to offer. When I was figuring out who should go next, he was the first person that I thought of!

Hi, I'm Christopher. I'm 26 years old, originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada (and a role Cassy thought was appropriate for me to play in Be Amekins ). I'm now living in Ontario, where I'm in my third year of a PhD in mathmematics, studying quantum walks on graphs.

I discovered Werewolf on BGG several years ago, but at the time didn't feel I had a consistent enough schedule to play. Last summer, Jamie (dejojam1) and I were discussing it and decided to try it out. 40+ games later and we're still here!

I enjoy playing board games in my spare time; Dominion and Pandemic Legacy are current favourites of mine. (No Season 2 spoilers! ) I'm also a big fan of Harry Potter and Pokemon!

My pronoun preferences are fairly easy going, though, and as long as you don't correct OTHER people's pronoun usage, you can call me whatever you want.

Questions for you:

- Do you (and dejo) play much WW in person? Can you typically read each other at social deduction games?

- When do you think we can expect to see you at a convention? whistle

- What do you spend the most time doing outside of BGG/board games/sleeping/cooking and eating/working?

- What's your favorite Taylor Swift song?

- What themes do you wish people would run games of?

- What's your favorite good role to be? Evil?

- What's your least favorite good role to be? Evil?

- If cvb was a role, what would it be?

- What are your 2-3 favorite games you've been a part of on BGG?

Currently with the typical size of our game group, we don't tend to play WW is person, but tend more towards Resistance / One Night. While I was doing my masters, the game group I was part of there tended to play weekly. I'm terrible at reading dejo, but she has been excellent at reading me lately - need to work on that!

ljtrigirl wrote:

I'm hoping sometime this year, but it depends on our schedules and where they are held.

ljtrigirl wrote:

Watching TV - we're slowly binge-watching The 100.

ljtrigirl wrote:

You're trying to trick me into giving away something. It won't work.

I've actually seen all of it before, but thought I'd rewatch it before the fifth season. Cvb hasn't seen it before, but we're nearly at the end of Season 2.

I love it too! I wasn't a huge fan of Season 3, but Season 4 was really good!

Yeah I got put off by season 3, and watched season 4 a bit later than when it aired, but I was really really glad I went back to it!

Same!

I'm not sure if I liked 2 or 4 better, but I thought they were both great. Probably 2. I really liked Lexa.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The beginning of season 3 was decent, but the episode or two before she died was where it lost me.

Woah, no pressure on this question!

I think some of the main challenges to starting out are not knowing anyone, making it difficult to fully contribute to conversations about reads early on, not expecting things to be moving so fast during LC, and generally the difference from face-to-face games.

But I think as long as we're supporting new players, it's about everyone recognizing that while we don't want to be exclusive, we do have certain conventions that may take some getting used to, and we've all been there, not quite sure if we fit in but persevering.

And some things don't really change, they just feel intimidating at first. We still play with people we don't have meta for, new and old. We still encounter times we wish we could react to claims and snipe faster. We still play out new strategies that just wouldn't translate to playing in real life.

But we're all in this together, and at the end of the day, when we're not accusing each other of being evil, we're there for each other, and I'm glad to have found this community! heart

I love the amazing race also. Probably the show I have watched the most seasons of. Also has a special place for me due to that.

Speaking of which, I think it's the only show I have binge-watched (before that was a thing) due to missing a season at one point.

What is one of your favorite graph theory theorems? (One of my favorites is Kuratowski's theorem.)

What is your favorite math fact?

Why did you choose graph theory/ quantum walks?

How did you and dejo meet?

That's probably true for me as well, I started watching at season 5.

A graph is Eulerian if and only if it is connected and every vertex has even degree.

e^(i * pi) = -1.

Became interested in graph theory problems (dominating sets and colouring) early on in my studies, and found master's / phd supervisors that matched.

We're in the same PhD program, and then started playing board games together.

YES

These young 'uns thinking wolf of the week should only last a week, in my day, we used to milk it out for a month or so

Sorry I didn't get round to this earlier, cvb.

How many sausages is the right number for a reasonable portion of sausages?

Would you rather be too hot or too cold?

What is the favourite place you've lived?

Do you like fun-fairs/theme parks?

Could you run a mile non-stop?

Would you rather see a blue whale or an elephant in the wild?

What's your favourite item of clothing?

Big fish, little fish, or cardboard box?

What's your favourite joke?

How big are your shoes?

Do you like watermelon?
