eSports is a big thing now. The idea of taking what isn't normally seen as a sport, and play up its competitively, like athletic sports, has grown to be big in the area of videogames. As a thought project, I thought of taking other competitive activities, including tabletop games, and put them in a sports framework. The first to that came to mind were tSports (for tabletop games as sports), and reSports for retro videogame esports (arcade games). Here are others. Please feel free to comment. This is just an idea I had. Note I didn't have all letters used.

a. aSports: Analog sports. This is in contrast with eSports.
b. bSports: Boardgame sports
c. cSports: Card sports
d. dSports: Dexterity sports. Competitive games, based on measuring hand-eye coordination
e. eSports: eSports. Games played competitively on computers or videogame consoles.
f. fSports: Food sports. Competitive eating.
g. gSports: Game sports. Non-athletic competitions. These include b and c sports.
h.
i. iSports: Inventing sports. Competitions where creativity and inventing is judged.
j. jSports: Judged sports. Any competition where judges evaluate performance subjectively.
k. kSports: Knowledge sports. Trivia, spelling bees, mental recall.
l.

n.
o.
p. pSports: Physical sports. These involve use of physical skills.
q.
r.
re. reSports: Retro eSports. Retro style games played competitively.
s. DON'T USE AS JUST AN S. IT IS REDUNDANT, AND THUS, CONFUSING
t. tSports: Tabletop sports. Games played on a tabletop
u.
v. vSports: Vehicle sports. Sports/Games involving the use of vehicles
w. wSports: Wagering sports. Games involving betting or wagering
x. xSports: Extreme/experimental sports and games.

oSports could be the subset of sports that are endorsed in the Olympics.

We already have a term for that: "sports". Otherwise, not a sport.

ESPN begs to differ, as they clearly list the World Series of Poker as a sporting event.

WSOP falls under the "E" in ESPN

P can be used for other things. It was what I did off the cuff. In regards to sports being sports, it is increasingly becoming so, that games are less and less what are traditionally defined as "games". This is particularly true with the videogame industry and games seen as devices to tell stories, with the likes of The Stanley Parable, which is excellent interactive entertainment, not being a game.

To differentiate a game game from storytelling via interactivity, toys, puzzles, etc... in terms of it being competition, that is another reason for the a-z I had. I am just playing with this now.

Wait, so that means Curling is a qSport? Curling uses a broom.
