I used to own Railroad Tycoon
I do own First Train to Nuremburg

What i’m Looking for is a game with Track building, that is shorter than RRT (RRotW) and FTtN, somewhat simpler to teach and keep grasp of the rules game to game, and has the pick-up nd deliver aspects of RRT (RRotW). FTtN sort of has this but i’m not the biggest fan of how the game ends and how the goal is to be well versed in all goods/passengers to form complete sets. I think i’d prefer that game to have missions or orders players had to fill to gain points.

Any suggestions and how that suggestion could fit into what I’m looking for?

Thanks!

Via Nebula looks close to your wishes.
If you are into oldies, maybe Canal Mania.

I was going to suggest a crayon rail game, but it looks like you're after something shorter. But they have network building, pick-up and deliver, and orders to fill. There is a shorter/simplified one called Empire Express but I haven't tried it. Also, Italian Rails is a good PnP that is shorter than other crayon rail games (but it involves printing quite a few cards).

Well I will check that out! I am a huge Martin Wallace fan too so maybe one of his lighter titles will be more suited to the group I have to play games with.

No more need to PnP this one; now offered as a complete game you can buy.

Railways of the World: The Card Game? No board, but you build routes and deliver goods. It's shorter, and fairly easy to teach.
