Hello. I found this video through my Facebook feed and before I knew it, I had watched the entire thing. It almost feels like deadpan comedy in the vein of Look Around You, but it was also nearly ASMR-level relaxation.
The game doesn't look great (or even good, I hate to say), but he never talks about the rules, only the graphic design. 17+ minutes just talking about the graphic design of his game.
I'm not dissing the guy, because, hey, he made a game; more power to him. I just found this video oddly... hypnotic, I guess? YMMV

Edit: Thank you, Steve Duff, for showing me how to embed the video!

I looked the designer up using Google (since the game and the designer do not appear to be on BGG) and learned the following:
The designer is also the author of a book series called "The Bedroom Chamber". You can hear him read the books on SoundCloud here:
https://soundcloud.com/wwwearp

I don't know whether it is more or less mesmerizing if there is no video to accompany the guy's voice.

Looks like Backtrack was put on Kickstarter three times but it did not get funded. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/backtrackbg/the-backtra...

I watched all 5 videos and read the box but there was nothing in it that told how to play the game. Still, I framed my board and it now hangs in my dining room because I've never seen a more brilliant color scheme. People are always asking me about the acf custom logo.

I think poetry is this dude's true calling, and I sincerely hope he comes to realise that sooner rather than later.

I like this youtube comment on the video:

"Amazing, concepts! Where can we buy this game, i have checked with my local board game shop, but this so called ''expert'' hasn't even heard about this game, yet alone ordered it. Thanks in advance."

Brutal. It's possible to backtrack 32 spaces in one go.

And no two of them are the same.

(I know it was said above, but...location, location, location...
Or should I say, juxtaposition, juxtaposition, juxtaposition...)

At 5:05 I felt bad and stopped the video.
Ever see outsider art...yeah it’s not good.
It’s unique...it’s interesting...it’s a lot of other stuff but good...mostly no.

Gotta admit...I'm disappointed that it wasn't the greatest unboxing video of all-time:

"The 32 could have been one single colour"
"The 23 could have been one single colour"
"The 33 could have been one single colour. But instead I have decided to make it more interesting , because I did not only want to make a great game, but something that also catches the eye of the players"

If the guy had created "Gloomhaven" he would have made a video where he lingers on every single item in the box. And that video would be 2 days long.

Amazing!

For even more Earp goodness check this out - these are videos about every single element of his game, available on Amazon Prime.
The video about the logo alone is already 12 minutes!!! There is also a complete video only about the dice!

https://www.amazon.de/Wyatt-Woolma-Earp-Amazon-Video/s?ie=UT...

Edit: Amazon Prime doesn't let you watch the videos in Germany because of "licensing". But they must exist somewhere!
