I think it's an adjective, since it modifies "token". But, I think it's pronounced "RECord", if that's what you're asking.

I agree with both assertions here (The first is a grammar question and completely uncontroversial - and while I guess you could pronounce it either way I think "reCORD token" would sound very weird.)
