I can’t find a rule in the JR rules saying that the KGB chief (or delegate) ages a year after performing a successful purge. This rule is in the AH rule set. So, is this a deliberate change (based on what the FM edition did maybe?), or just an omission?

The JR board says that a successful purge costs 1SP (terminology from earlier editions) so I guess the main rules want this to be the case too.

It's a bit unknown if the differences are intentional or accidental omissions. It makes sense that successful purges still are stressful. Mechanically it's also important for the game. Otherwise you have little incentive to not wipe out the entire candidate row if none of them are your guys.
