the hot spot card "may only lead singles" does this mean that I can only play one card at a time?surprise
or only when I start any legal play

When you start or initiate a legal play. If/When someone else leads with, say pairs or a 4 card run, then you can play the same. But should everyone else pass and it is your turn to lead, you have to lead with a single.

It's a hefty restriction, but that hotspot card also provides the largest potential point payout in the game!

One of my friends was sitting in the middle of the pack at 14 points, chose that hotspot card and pulled off the improbable to go out first, netting 15 points and the surprise win.
