Does anybody know how long do flu germs live in objects?

I’ve been playing board games with my wife and two of my kids that caught the flu to keep them distracted, and I'm taking my own precautions for not getting sick, but I’m pretty sure there has to be germs on the game components, do they die after a few hours? Days?.

Thanks.

I was just looking something for a game here on BGG and that question popped up in my head, but I guess I was too lazy to google it.

Unless your precautions involve a biohazard suit, you're much more likely to have caught it from breathing their air or kissing your wife than from your game components.

I was doing fine living in isolation (just staying in the house) while my wife and son insisted on getting out in the world.

Damned flu. Nature finds a way.

The flu virus can last for around 24 hours on a surface.

Also keep in mind that just holding a conversation with someone at normal distance is about the same as spitting in each others mouths when it comes to transferring germs.
