I'm just curious if anyone knows what the record is for a board game on KS? Nemesis, as you know, took in GBP3.08 million. How does that compare?

It seems that BGG won't allow URL params so I can't give you an exact link, but if you go here and sort by 'Most Funded', you'll see Nemesis is #9 (including video games): https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/games?sort=m...

Kingdom Death: Monster has the record. The second KS for KDM concluded spring 2017 and hauled in something like 13+ million USD and has since exceeded 15 million USD from the Pledge Manager.

If you only filter by tabletop games it is #6.

Wow, it outperformed Rising Sun, Zombicide and Gloomhaven - impressive!

Exploding Kittens is #2? Over 200k backers ... must be some game.

Haven't played it, but feedback is that it's the second coming of the board gaming messiah. But no miniatures, so I think it's bullshit.

Except it does have minis.

It's a really great game. I'd say a little more involved than a party game, but still, it's great. Too many people can't get past the theme. I'll just leave that to the individual to decide on.

As far as Most Funded it's Kingdom Death: Monster baby! Nearly 12.4 million in the KS and certainly several million more in the pledge manager.

Don't confuse success at KS funding/backing or the presence of minis with good game play.

Luckily KD:M has that in spades. I'm sure Nemesis does as well, as the videos I watched made me wish I had been there playing.

Ah, good point, I'll consider not doing that any more.

199K of those 200K came from The Oatmeal.

Every video I've seen so far of people playing the prototype ended with them enjoying the game.

Got 7th continent and it is a very good game, very different that what currently exist (in my knowledge).

We only did the first malediction (see it as a kind of campagn) and it took us 3 try and around 15-20h to finish it, do not remember.

It is a coop game with a mixte of exploration (tiles exploration like page of book where you are the heroes: if you want to check those printing go take tile XXX), with random event (fog war) when discovering new area, some enigma (hidden option if you got clue or specific item to take card number X + clue number to get the hidden result...), crafting/combination, skills , survival aspect (hunger), optional quest etc. It is so cool to see the map getting bigger and bigger when you are exploring.

Even if we had to restart 3 times and start again from the same starting point, the experience was different each time since we went different way and have more knowledge from our previous failure.

However this game is now quite hard to get since no retainer version, only kickstarter and the pledge manager must be closed now.

My most favorite games from KS 2017: 7th continent & gloomhaven.

Nemesis will be a nice addition to offer a game which can be played in on session (quite interested by the campagn mode)

It's a simple game, but yeah, it's awesome.

7th continent is not that revolutionary - it is basically a gamebook where pages of the book are replaced by cards. It does offer additional options though. What I saw in videos it is very well though and I am really looking into playing it myself. I went into the second KS (the everything in pledge level)

It (7th Continent) does appear to have an immersive quality. Perhaps a characteristic shared with Nemesis...
