Sorry if this question has been asked before.

I have the base game and am now considering the expansion. My only question so far is with regard to Boat 2a from the base game.

This is what the boat does.

"In addition, when placing village tiles in their village a player does not need to match the sides (roads, no roads and water)."

Boat 2a allows the player to build a weird-looking "farm" with no definite road-border. How does that play when combined with the farmer expansion?

Thank you.

Nothing about what defines a field changes, you're just going to have to be careful in figuring out where your fields actually are and how they might connect when placing tiles.

Definition of a field per the rules:
A field is an area surrounded by roads, water and the unconnected sides of tiles. A field may extend across several tiles.
