Are there any London/SE based gamers for this title? I haven't tried Vassal so perhaps that's the way to go. robot

EDIT: We're going to shoot for a game of T&T 2nd Ed. on Saturday 10th March from 11am @ Dark Sphere Games in Lambeth. I have a 6x4 large table reserved and the more the merrier! Should be able to fit two games should we have a big turnout. The shop is very close to Lambeth tube and there should be enough amenities close by. It's a very large shop with a central playing area which will probably be taken over very mostly by card gaming.

https://www.darksphere.co.uk/index.php

Rules will be 2nd Edition standard with no house rules just to keep this simple. Choose sides when we arrive and roll dice where needed. Please message me to confirm a place. Thanks, Kevin.

Re: London / SE UK gamers?
I'm South London based (South Norwood) and would love to get a game of this in--my copy languishes unplayed.

I'm in Beckenham (SE London) and a big T&T fan. Let's get something organised. Would 24th March work for people?

Sounds like enough interest out there to get a game or two together! Thanks all. I can’t do 24th March but can do the 10th or 17th March. I was thinking of booking a game table at Dark Sphere in Lambeth if that works out.

If that sounds good let me know or put some other dates out there.

Sadly, I struggle with Sat/Sun--Wednesday and Friday nights tend to work best, especially down around the Ludoquist, or pubs around London Bridge.

Ludoquist sounds interesting Michael. Just too far south for me as I’m in N London. I could do a Friday night instead of a Saturday. What venues are in London Bridge?

Re: London / SE UK gamers?
I've checked with Leisure Games (Finchley Central) and with Dark Sphere (Lambeth) and tables do not seem to be a problem. Both could do a Sunday or a Weds evening. Fridays seem a bit busier due to card gaming though Dark Sphere could probably work. So...

Looking around the weekend of 10th March, we could do the 9th Friday evening till 11pm at Dark Sphere, or they could possibly fit a table in for Saturday 10th. Or, either venue could do Sunday the 11th. I could do any of those dates, so this is the time for anyone to express an interest in those dates or locations.

How does Friday 9th March at Dark Sphere in Lambeth sound? I can be there from 5ish and have a 2nd Edition copy which I could get set up.

I can't do the 9th unfortunately. However, Fridays can work for me. 2nd or 23rd March would be do-able from my side.

Thanks for replying Nick. My wife is away both those dates, so can’t do those. However, let’s go back to Saturday March 10th as a backup. Or...we could pull this forward to Friday 23rd February?!!! Shorter notice and could be harder to find a third player, but it would be good to kick off!

I've already got plans for 23rd. 10th still works though.

Thanks Nick, I've reserved a table for the 10th! I enjoyed your review by the way

Could potentially make it if you need a third player. Also, have the alt 36 setup from a magazine if needed. BUt probably the standard setup goes a long way, have played it three times.

That's great David! I'll be chasing everyone up in the week running up to the 10th to confirm who is coming so it's not a closed shop.

UPDATE!!!

Table booking for 10th March now confirmed pre-paid! We're on for Saturday, and I've had a look at the 6x4 foot table and feel it is big enough to support 2 games at once if we have a flood of participants. Please send me a message if you are planning to make it. I'll be sending out a message to those on this thread who expressed an interest.

Just to confirm, the event is from 11am Saturday, 10th March at Dark Sphere Games in Lambeth:

186 Hercules Road
London
SE1 7LD

Tel: 020 7928 1373

They close between 6 and 7pm so this isn't going to go into the wee hours! Depending on how things go, there may be time for a second game, but my ambition is to get in one good game if it takes a while to complete.

The unmodified 2nd Edition is the order of the day. Where required, we can reference rules clarifications from stuff posted here on the Geek. I've not played this game face to face personally and it will be a learning experience, so don't worry if you are not a seasoned player! However, knowledge of the rules and game will be required for a successful game.

We will decide sides once we get there, and please bring a copy of the game if you have one handy in case we need a second copy. I'll be there from 11 to set up board 1.

I will also bring a copy of Twilight Struggle just in case the pairings don't work out.

thanks,
Kevin

=======TRAVEL=======

Tube: Take the Bakerloo Line to Lambeth North. The Tube station exits onto a crossroads - cross straight over and as the road forks, go right onto Hercules Road. The shop is about five minutes walk, and will be on your right-hand side just before the car wash and cafe.

Rail: Leave Waterloo station via the Jubilee Line exit, turning right onto Waterloo Road. Take the first right onto Baylis Road, and when you get to the crossroads by Lambeth North cross straight over onto Hercules Road. It's about ten minutes walk.

Bus: If coming from the city centre, the 159 towards Streatham Station stops by Lambeth North. You can easily catch the bus from Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and Westminster Station.
