i don't have the kickstarter metal coins as they seemed too expensive for what they were and there would never (short of fleecers on ebay) be a way to get more if i decided there weren't enough (i dont like using placeholders)
picture of plastic base game coins (far left) metal coins i got from amazon seller (middle) tokaido cooins from collectors edition (right)

edit :- scroll down post for better resolution pictures

i got far more of the cheap amazon ones than in either the base game or takaido, although the tokaido ones are definitely the best quality

Why not just use real coins? I use 5 yen coins, but, if I were in the States, I’d just use pennies.

Honestly i was thinking of just using real japanese coins too. I mean of im going to spend $20-30 on coins it may as well be real ones rather than worthless toys lol!

Lol you guys on here slay me
My initial post (I know it had rubbish pictures )
Was purely to point out quality and size differences
In answer to the user from Japan of course you have local coinage, probably spare cash to you.
To the other 2 responses 5 yen works out to be approx 0.07 0pence I'll.let you convert into Canadian or USD as there are 150 yen to the pound so why would anyone spend nearly 15 GBP for coins that are equally worthless as the originally posted game ones ?? And they don't look like the ones that come in the game, square hole not round.
Every game is worthless imo my recent kickstarter was valued at I think USD 35.00 for the whole package as far as customs value was concerned, so its either seriously inderdeclared or its equally worthless in true monetary value.
As many users are keen to use as there defence for any arguments on here
First world problems and all that
Happy gaming

I was able to travel to Japan last Summer and specifically bought a load of 5 yen coins for Rising Sun. Probably cost me about $2.50 USD
