To have a more realistic approach to stress use the following rules.
These rules will add a little bit of more time to the campaign but will add the feeling that stress is due to continuous use of the squadron.

Before a mission roll 1D10.
This will be the time space used by that mission per day.
Every time the added D10 rolls reach or go above 10 start another day keeping the excess above 10.

Example:
On mission 1 during the first day I roll a 7.
On mission 2 I roll a 4 adding to the first roll and I got an 11.
After this mission is day 2 and I start with 1 time space.

After every mission the pilots that didn't go into a mission will reduce their stress by 1+ their coolness.
After every night, every pilot will have their stress reduced by 1.

I think this thread would be a better fit for the variant section.

So, conceptually you could have a pilot flying several missions in one calendar day?

Exactly. It makes it more realistic without losing the stress mechanism and the amazing roleplaying factor.

RAF pilots during WW2 made two, three even four sorties per day (and died a lot doing that).

But mainly it means that several pilots in a squadron can do more than one sortie per day.

My knowledge of the subject matter is pretty limited; not sure how often pilots made multiple sorties in a single day during Rolling Thunder or Linebacker. I am guessing not many (especially in the north Route Packages.

I like your idea, but won't that change the campaign as you will probably fly twice the amount of missions and always get an excellent rating?
