Hi All!

Me and a friend are experimenting with doing playthrough videos of the games we love. The videos are mostly for our own pleasure but we would very much like some feedback and tips if there is something we can do differently.

Please disregard the sound as it will be replaced.

Here are the first few videos:

Turn 01: https://youtu.be/_RI6r1OUnko

Turn 02: https://youtu.be/iHN6dRDM-7M

Turn 03: https://youtu.be/Fcw-VsllUIc

Turn 04: https://youtu.be/c_E5Ok7Nruo

Turn 05: https://youtu.be/BDN3Qt-qyu4

Cheers and thanks

Sven and Frank

I skipped ~30 seconds at a time to get a feel of it. Looks great to me.

Thanks

Glad that you found it to be ok.

As with most playthroughs, they are slooow and this is no exception. We have almost 3 hours of footage so it might be an idea to speed the video up x2 or more...

Great job on it! I like the cards being down at the bottom of the screen. You were able to catch everything that was being done. Over time, you may want to try to Work with other angles so you can sit down and enjoy it, but that's just my personal preference when watching playthroughs.

Thanks for the reply, very kind!

We tried to give it a "sports event" look with the moving cards and stats on the screen. I think we achieved that but you are so right about sitting down, we filmed almost three hours standing up so it was a big relief to be able to sit down afterwards

For our next gamevideos we will try to finish some kind of overhead rig to capture the gameplay more from above. It will probably be better both for the quality of the video and for our legs...

Thanks once again for the comment! Much appreciated!

Enjoyed it and liked your use of cards and graphics to liven up the game; do the same myself

And most importantly from my preference as a viewer is you focused on the game instead of on the players. Way too many play through videos I've tried to watch have half the screen taken up by the people around the table and the board down below at a very extreme angle so you can't tell what's going on. Or, the camera is about 6 feet away from the board at a weird angle so you can see everyone around the table. Never really found any point in that, unless it's a social deduction game or something like Epic Spell Wars where everyone's reaction is a big part of the game.

Thanks!

I agree that the game itself is what matters and even without the added graphics and stuff the viewer should still be able to see whats going on gameplay wise.

We will try different angles next time but the game will always be the main focalpoint so no one will ever see our pretty faces

Cheers and thanks!
