Never played the game... but the fact I, a man that hates roll and move games keeps wanting to play this damn game even nobody else does AND the fact you have to answer so many questions about the box speaks wonders for this game

The characters and their game bonuses from Lewis & Clark are interesting. They have individual art and thoughtful little descriptions in the game book.

Most dungeon crawlers have wonderful characters that get you more invested when they advance in levels . Terrinoth heroes in Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) are good ones and some were used in Runebound (Second Edition).
The Warhammer Quest personalities had amazing advancements that gave them more character during gameplay. You really played like an Imperial noble or Pit fighter.

Not so much characters but characterful none the less are the player ships in Xia: Legends of a Drift System. You you find that players will choose one that appeals to them even though they are just vessels. I have even started using the millennium Falcon from Star Wars risk for Xia on the odd occasion.

For me, it's a tie between Scythe and Arkham Horror.

Scythe's art is excellent, but Arkham Horror's investigators got their own story collection!

I know a lot of people hate it, but I'm a big fan of the photographed characters in Flying Frog's pre-SoB games.

Sushi Go Party!

I'm going to claim that because all the sushi has faces, that makes them characters. And they're just so cute I could eat them up!

Does this count? Many of the epic cards feature characters.

The art in this game is so amazing that it needs there needs to be an art book. And, the art book needs to include a proper rock album that I can jam out to while looking at the awesomeness.

I could buy the cards just for the art. Amazing art.
The characters in this seem to come to life.

Android.

And +100 for the stunt dog, though none of the other characters in DoW is memorable to me.

I fell in love with the steampunky ghostbusters from The Phantom Society - a shame that they don't feature more heavily, well, basically everywhere! laugh

But then, Xavier Gueniffey Durin's work on Tokaido is outstanding - I could live in that cover. Also his Yokai for Yōkaï no Mori are perfect - they really should release a full version of おおきな森のどうぶつしょうぎ - Dobutsu Shogi in the Greenwood...

Me. I'm quite the character

Joking aside, that's actually how I view it really - it's not the characters in game, it's the people playing them. The characters are just our avatars in game, we give them any life they may have.

With that said, I DO have a particular love for the characters in Champions of Midgard. The great art coupled with how unique each character is does a lot for them.

Beautiful art and you can place items on the characters. Even a falcon!
