Thank you for topito
It seems like a simple version of meeple circus, a much better game to
start with, more about patterns. Maybe not as much of a game feel, but
the theme may still be there.

I know of Rhino Hero, but it uses cards and that is too flimsy for us.

Jack and the beanstalk, I did not see much piling up, piling up of dice?

Well, you need to pile up dice, cardboard clouds, a castle and a few other pieces. You can have a look at pictures on the BGG game page to get an idea of what it looks like.

Thank you, Junk Art looks a bit too abstract for us.

The "granddaddy" of "pile-up" games: Bausack
The "great-granddaddy": Packesel I am sure that's older than 1988. Likely only found in Germany if at all.
Not quite a "stacking" game but similar: Suspend

You will find further examples in this geeklist: Stacking games

Great thank you,

All those games look abstract, nothing like meeple circus
and none of the children games are in this list including meeple
circus, rhino hero etc. So I guess this post might generate a different list: stacking games for kids!

May not be exactly the type of stacking games you're looking for but might be worth a peek-
Garbage Day!- there's a game with similar concept that uses a tree but I couldn't remember it.
Lift it!
Suspend
Beasts of Balance

Just remembered this one...

Don't forget another classic. This one is from 1952, 35 years before Bausack: Blockhead!

Thank you, I got to look at lots of games. But I don't see anything like meeple circus.

I think meeple circus is quite unique in that in breaks down the dexterity part into small chunks.

Then around that, there is a strategic game: you choose which elements you will use and how you will put them together and where you put your meeples to get maximum points.

There are 3 rounds, and the effect accumulates, so the first and second round serve as preparation for the third round which can carry the most
points.

I like that the game has a strategic element to go with the dexterity. Can you see how all the little rules can be combined to give you points in lots of little ways?
