Subject: How is hard? rss

We have been playing on normal and it doesn’t seem very difficult. We rarely seem challenged at all. How is hard? Is it impossible?

What does hard do? Increase perils? Does it make monsters more difficult/have more health? Does it give you crappy items when shopping?

You start with less gold and the perils happen sooner. Everything else is the same I believe.

Oh ok, well that's not too bad. I was wondering if more enemies showed up (other than perils) or they had more health, etc.

Copy-paste from the CRRG:

Normal
In campaign play, peril increases at a gradual rate and heroes start with 50 gold per hero.
In The Delve, heroes start with 1 XP, receive a small amount of
recovery and condition removal in between stages, and have the default amount of time to resolve each stage.

Hard
In campaign play, Peril increases at a higher rate and heroes start with no gold.
In The Delve, heroes do not receive any XP or
recovery between stages, and the amount of time players have to resolve a stage is reduced.

Hard if peril you receive no XP between stages? So you never level up?

The perils do appear quite a bit sooner and get vicious quickly, so everything has to be done more efficiently. We certainly felt the difference in difficulty when playing on hard mode.

In the campaigns XP is gained at the same rate on Hard or Normal difficulty.

In the delve you gain XP between stages but no XP at the start. I see that I need to rephrase that.
