Like everyone else once I assembled my models for Shadespire I was unhappy with throwing all my minis back in the box to await their inevitable demise. I plan on painting my minis and having them rattle around in the box is just not going to work. I also want to have this game setup so that I can introduce it to new gamers on game night without having to spend an hour making decks for everyone. After pondering my options for a bit this is what I came up.

All of the minis go into one GW Skirmish case while all of the decks, board, counters, rulebook all go into the core box.

All of my decks go into Ultra Pro Deck boxes of matching colors for their factions. The Core box has room for nine of these deck boxes if you move the counters to GW case. If you want to leave the counters in the Core box you can fit seven deck boxes.

I used the GW deck guides to help me build my decks and substituted in appropriate cards as best I could when I ran into cards I do not have at the moment. Since I only have four factions at the moment I have put objectives 1-5 in with each factions decks. This is one thing that I will have to switch up before games once I get the two other factions since I only have 4 copies of each card but I feel like this is minor issue.

Each faction deck box contains a pre-made deck, all of the unused faction specific cards and their faction dice.

For the minis the GW skirmish case has plenty of room for the factions I already have plus room to grow for new expansions. For those unfamiliar with these cases they have more room in the bottom layer than the top. I have all the minis in the top layer so far with room for at least one more faction there. The way these cases are designed makes them pretty good for odd shaped minis or even storing counters/dice etc.. if needed. My second set of boards and rulebook fit underneath the foam.

I still have my second Core box for the time when I have too many factions to fit in one box. For now I can use one Core box and the GW skirmish case to carry everything that is out including enough boards and dice for a four player game. I hope this helps someone out there who is trying to figure this all out.

Cheers,

-Lee

Nice!

I went the "I'm broke" way and got the Keter Cantilever Toolbox ($16),
it's got removable trays on top for bits and the deep trays on the bottom part fits those small acrylic deckboxes evenly with the minis on top of them.

The only bad part is the boards don't fit in anywhere, but they can slide easily into a backpack or whatever.

That works. My biggest concern was protecting the minis once I paint them. I used something similar to this for my Battlelore stuff. Like yours it works great for everything but the boards.

I myself went a different route as i did not want to carry around two boxes.

That is cool. I need to learn how to design those.
