Easily one of my favorite games that I don't play....

The physical product is great

It even has a vassal module which is excellent...

and it plays great PBEM style....

If you are a RPG type, great system for running some mass battles (OK these guys are dwarves, these guys are Riders of Rohan, The PCs are leaders, etc.)

and I even found a reliable and interesting PBEM gamer to play it with...

but after a few weeks of battle, I lost my leader to a bad die roll and that was it for me...

I was very disappointed as PBEM games take time and to lose a leader due to a poor die roll did not sit well with me so I quit playing....

In hindsight, what a HUGE mistake... I need to change my mindset...

So should I?
Play larger scenarios with more than one leader?
Suck it up and quit whining, you put the leader out there for a reason and well, he got zapped, don't do that unless you are willing to take the risk..
Some house rule people use to deal with the subject?

I have recently started getting into Roman history so the period interests me although maybe not to the level of buying one of the GMT masterpieces..

you're "question" would better be turned into a "vote" whistle

I'd say option "2" gets my vote as well.

I'd say do both 1 and 2, and then--much later, if you get fed up again--try option 3.

I agree. A poll would have been better in hindsight, I should have eliminated answer two as well laugh

The point is well taken however..
