This was new for Trysh. Playing Sauron, I got off to a strong start, quickly getting up by three pieces. However, I had overextended myself and allowed Frodo to slip past me and bring that darned ring to Mt. Doom.

I always have very mixed feelings about this game. There is so much bluff and counterbluff, and Frodo is so slippery that the game always seems to come down to aligning your forces in just the right way - moreso than actually winning fights. Which was clearly the intention - but maybe my mind doesn't work that way. It reminds me a teensy bit of the abstract game Tresspass (aka Buffalo) where one player has all the power and the other just has to slip through.
Winner(s): Trysh C.
Ratings: Jonathan D. (6.5)
