People may remember that I designed four games in a family of games I call the “Between the Wars” system.
In chronological order of design they are Freikorps (1998), War Plan: Crimson (2000),Konarmiya Year of the Red Tide (2007) and Finnish Civil War (2009).

Finnish Civil War, as the last one to be designed, was the first to use the three-Operations-Segment, interleaved sequence of play when it was published by Compass Games in Paper Wars magazine in 2016.

Subsequently Konarmiya got an overhaul to use this system and was published by Tiny Battle in 2017 as Red Horde 1920 (along with the upgraded system it also had a new map, new order of battle research, some new rules and different components, so it really did need a new title too).

Freikorps was next to get a similar treatment and will be published in April 2018 in Yaah! magazine #11 (from Flying Pig Games, which is Tiny Battle’s sister company) as Strike for Berlin. (BGG link pending)

That leaves War Plan Crimson as the only one of the family left using the old mechanics and sequence of play, even though it got a drastic upgrade with its Tiny Battle edition in 2016.

Today I rewrote the rules to update the game for the new system.
They are for the Tiny Battle edition; the other versions are no longer available - but you could probably use these with some adjustments.

Get them here:
https://brtrain.wordpress.com/2018/03/04/war-plan-crimson-ma...

The rules and charts replace those supplied with the game.
I might have missed a numerical reference here or there, deal with it.
You will have to make two sets of three Operations Chits each using blank markers, poker chips or something like that. That’s about all the physical conversion required.

I hope you will give this a try!

No.

I have not been able to locate Bruce to ask him about this.
Anyway, this "Mark II" is a change in the original game mechanics only.
If you have Bruce's expansion kit, you can still use it with these replacement rules.

You should add it in eventually if you can reach him! But you need to do more counters and two maps to have them in the same style as the redone game. I can do it for free if I can get the .Ai files.

BTW I will have a full pimped-up version of the game, with larger maps, available soon. Will post pictures. Not sure yet about the size of the counters: Either larger, or same size as the original, so that i can fit more of them in a hex without needing to stack.

I would never be able to make maps to John Cooper standard.
And he doesn't come cheap.

Please do post pictures and report of the game!
Are you going to use the Mark II rules?
Personally, I would keep the counters the same size, on the larger map hexes.

Any chance you could post those as a .pdf? When I convert your file to a .pdf, the charts are split over page breaks. (I don’t have a pc, just an ipad.)

What are "those" exactly? If you are talking about the expansion , "The Maple leaf Forever", files them as PDF's: These are Copyrighted by Bruce McFarlane.

Done and posted, Joe.
Seemed to come out all right.

Carl, he was asking about the charts for the new rules.
