Do we supply our own tokens OR do we use player markers?

Thanks in advance

If you use your own markers, youll prob have far less to use to mark tiles on the board (esp in a lower player count game). You can use money cubes...but we use normal gems from the bgg store for all markers on blue cards. That frees up the game components for use.

Ie, find something else to use meeple

According to the rules floaters are a resource. All resources are marked using the bronze, silver and gold resource cubes, so you should use those.

Edit: See Base rules page 5

Quote:
Resource cubes: Resources are collected on the player board or on specific cards. There are many types of resources (see page 14), but they are all marked by these cubes:

BRONZE = 1
SILVER = 5
GOLD = 10

DaveD is correct.

Floaters (Venus Next) are a resource.
All resources are tracked using the copper, silver, and gold resource cubes supplied with the base game.

There are no money cubes in this game. There are resource cubes and money is one of the resources. The metallic cubes are used for all resources everywhere, on playerboards, on cards and at other places if there would become new respource placements in the future.

Player cubes are to mark production levels, used action cards and owned tiles and other spots needed to be marked as owned or claimed.

"Floaters" is not a great term for this resource. A "floater resource" suggests a wild or variable resource to me, not a resource that is just like all other resources -- called Floater because most projects on Venus are done high up in the atmosphere. We found this a bit confusing at first.

Floaters can be moved to different cards so how do you distinguish floater resources for other tings like microbes?

The text on the card tells which resource it holds (if any).

I am almost sure that you are wrong. I don't remeber seing anything in the rules allowing you to move a floater around at will.
