I remember playing the game shortly after it came out. I thought it was rather bland, with no real interaction between the players (the simultaneous solitaire syndrome).

The Yeti and Avalanche cards are marked with a notation about discarding Danger cards which is superfluous, as the author confirmed.

I wrote the author to suggest player interaction be allowed (essentially by having players play Dangers on each other), and the author's response left me somewhat stunned:

«While [...] gamers are encouraged to improvise, we have opted to keep the play as simple as possible for the general public. More specifically, I view "attacking" other players as being contrary to true mountaineering.»

Apparently not a true gamer, Mr. Wilkins was unable to make the leap of abstraction to players acting multiple roles (their characters and the other characters' fates)...
