Located in Sector 04-70, the Badlands is a region of space along the border of the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union. The area is known for intense plasma storms, gravitational anomalies and even stranger phenomena. For those reasons, it is commonly avoided by most interstellar traffic.

Recent intelligence suggests that an enemy fleet has been hiding in the Badlands, in preparation for a major assault. You have been put in command of a task force that will enter the Badlands and seek out the enemy fleet, and neutralize it if necessary.

Special Components

• 10 Plasma Storm tokens
• 1 Warhammer 40K Scatter Die

Squadron Points

130 SP per player. 50-point limit on individual ships.

Each player, starting with the player with initiative, takes turns placing plasma storm tokens in the play area, one at a time. Each plasma storm token must be at least 4” from each other and 4” from the players starting area.

Afterwards, the players place their ships in their starting areas according to the normal Set-Up rules for two players.

Special Rules

After all ships have moved, the plasma storms move. Movement utilizes 1 Warhammer 40K Scatter die. The die is rolled for each plasma storm. Plasma storms move 2 straight in the direction of the arrow on the die.

If a plasma storm contacts a ship it stops moving. Three attack dice are immediately rolled. The affected ship rolls its normal defense roll against the plasma storm. Any damage accrues normally.

If a plasma storm contacts a minefield token it stops moving, and the minefield token detonates. The effects of the minefield token are determined according to the rules for the minefield. Once all damage effects are determined, the minefield token is removed from the playing area.

Cloaked ships may not roll any additional defense dice due to being cloaked.

Target Locks do not work in the Badlands.

Special Scoring

Ships destroyed by plasma storms do not count toward your Fleet Points destroyed.

Destroy all your opponent’s ships.

Have more Fleet Points than your opponent.
