The hero draft variant is a radical new way of using the heroes in Thunderstone quest, for those who don't want to fight over 4 heroes, and want to find strategies between multiple heroes.

Instead of starting with 6 adventurers, 2 thunderstones, 2 daggers, and two lanterns, shuffle 2 copies of every level 1 hero together into 1 pile. This will be the drafting pile. Then, from this pile, deal out 6 heroes to each player.

Each player then chooses 1 hero from the 6 that has been dealt to them, and passes the rest of the hand to the next player, who picks another one, until each player has 6 heroes which they have drafted out. These level 1 heroes replace the adventurers in the deck.

Heroes can only level up, and cannot be purchased. Your adventuring party is those 6 heroes you drafted out!

Instead of the guild in this game mode, there is the graveyard. Each of the 4 slots in the graveyard represents a player. If a hero would be destroyed for any reason, it is instead put into the corresponding player's graveyard. To revive a hero, you buy it as usual from your graveyard, after all, revival magic isn't cheap! However, you cannot buy other player's heroes. Players can only revive their own heroes.

There's also an alternative action which can be performed instead of the level up 2 option, which is in addition the the option of going to the guild to level up 2 heroes. This action is going to the graveyard. You revive a hero from the hospital directly without playing any costs for the hero that you revived. If you do this however, you cannot buy any items, or level up heroes.

I hope you all enjoy this variant which I've been playing with, have a nice day!
