ISSEN 一千 Advance on Kinai

Summary

Issen is set in the Kinai region of feudal Japan. Players take on the roles of warlords, aka Daimyo, of the warring states period, or Sengoku Jidai. The objective is to garner a total of 50 victory points, as a result of occupying enough regions, as well as build and/or occupy a castle and be in control of the capital - Heian-kyo of Yamashiro province. Together, these influences will grant the winning player with the title of Shogun, ending the game. This is for a setup of 2-4 players. The market that are likely to be interested in playing this game are 16 and up, will enjoy a bit of role playing and are likely to have fond memories of playing strategy games such as 'RISK,' and 'Axis and Allies Pacific.'

In addition to this deathmatch style objective, there will also be a single player conquest option, following historical events and at least two other expansions (maps and decks of cards). Players will be able to play the expansions either independently or as an extension of the main game. Issen - Advance on Kinai, with 2-4 players, should last somewhere between 1 hour to 1 hour 45mins, and is very strategic - kind of like a fast moving multi-way chess game with dice and some tactical cards thrown in. To win, players will have to secure trade centres, master diplomacy, be cunning and utilize each unit of troops in the most advantageous of ways - always acknowledging that fortune can also have its wicked twists.

The game is still in its early stages of development and play testing. Will keep you posted on releasing a full list of components, imagery and card examples.

Thanks in advance for your support!
