There are 48 City cards in the deck. I assume 12 of each color, so that means that it's possible to use some of these cards to travel, but have to keep at least 5 to cure a disease of a color.

One thing that sticks out to me, that this deck doesn't get to be reshuffled. It's like a timer.

exactly - when the cards run out the game ends and you lose. This happens a lot.

When we lost the game it was usually due to the player deck running out.

You often want to ensure more than 7 cards of a color exist before you've cured, because drawing the 5th of a color during the final turn (if the cards are buried deep in the deck) still does not allow for the cure to be made in time.

Edit: you should begin to think very seriously about discarding the 4th or 5th of any color.

My last game, one move from the final cure.

But what a great game it was.

I am still trying to find a question in the OPs post, if there is one.

Questions are a burden to others. Answers a prison for oneself. ninja

I don't think there's a question, just someone sharing a realization.

I would call it... an epiphany.

One of those "A-ha!" moments.
