All,

On page 12 of the rulebook, what does the italicized text in the bottom right mean?

It says something about the income spaces you are not allowed to cover. What does that mean?

Why can you not just put silver on the 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12 so you can get 15 income?

The example assumes there are open spots below and to the left of the 5 income space, it is just showing how you can cover spaces around the income spots if there is a reason you can't just cover them.

Basically to cover a space that shows income, you MUST cover everything to the left and under that space.

So to cover the 15 income spot... yeah you must cover almost all your board first! And in some islands things get very tricky and they do follow the same rule
