Subject: "The house always wins" question rss

Greetings!

During the scenario "The house always wins" a question rose up:

Three of the four starting rooms have this one time ability where you can get 2 clues (usable once per scenario). So far so good with 2 players.

But when playing with three players, how can you collect enough clues to advance the scene deck for the investigators?

You need 4 clues per investigator to advance (which makes 12) and the entrance room only has one clue per investigator which makes 9 clues all in all (6 via the three one-time-use abilitiy rooms and 3 clues via the entrance room)

Could it be that those once per game room abilities can be used once per scenario PER INVESTIGATOR?

Or am I missing something?

Correct. Effects that can be used only once by the entire group say "Group limit once per game" (emphasis by me), similar to the first ability on the Act I card of The House Always Wins.

As Magnus said, limits are always per investigator unless specified otherwise. See Limits and Maximums in the RRG.

Thank you for the clarifications!

But how do you manage the advance the first scene with three players then?

You are only able to get 9 clues and need twelve...

Three Player Clues are:
3 in Bella Luna
6 from discarding allies from your hand in the lounge
6 clues from having drinks at the bar
2 clues per successful gamble (this is theoretically infinite clues)

No problem getting 12.
