I realise I don't have many unique, small dice games with a lot game to them.

I like dice games but the big Ticket to Ride boxes takes up way too much shelf, I'm running out of place and I can't just throw them in a backpack.

Small box games I have and like:

Age of War, Eight Epics, Tiny Epic Galaxies, Cosmic Run, Fuse and Vivajava: The Dice Game: The Coffee Game.

Dragon Pets and Kingdom Run are on the way.

You might like One Deck Dungeon. It's best solo but works with two as well.

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

I like
Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age

Also... it's unique, small, and has dice, although the dice are probably not used in the way you'd expect. But it's a great game:

and if you want even more meat...
there's Roll Through the Ages: The Late Bronze Age (essentially a scoring pad plus a few new rules, order able from the publisher)

and then there's:
Roll Through the Ages: The Iron Age
which I read is even more involved.

For a larger player count, don't forget the small dice game Farkle. Maybe not the "meat" you are looking for, but tension nonetheless .

Cool, thank you for the recommendations everyone! Time to watch some videos and read some manuals!

Has anyone had experience with Garden Dice? That one looks intriguing.

There's also Pandemic: The Cure for a co-op experience

Tiny Epic Galaxies is dice +/- placement +/- resource management

The pandemic box is largish, but TEG certainly isn't...

Edit - just seen you already mentioned TEG! Sorry

Extra Edit - The RTtA Iron Age box is a LOT bigger than the Bronze Age box

+1000 Pandemic: The Cure is one of the best games ever period full stop

I didn't mention it originally because I was afraid the box may be considered to big.

The box clearly is too big. Half the size would have been enough. I find the box size quite annoying.

The game itself is quite nice, even though I find myself enjoying "normal" Pandemic more.

Yes it's too big but as a big Pandemic fan I like the way it lines up perfectly alongside all my other Pandemic games.
