I am enjoying learning this game- lots of theme and atmosphere. I have ran through the first hunt, but I feel I am doing something wrong.
Here is the way I went through the Turns/Rounds - for those of you with a good understanding of the rules, would you please check to see if I am doing it right? And if not, please list the proper way? This is too good a game to play wrong!

DAY~
Hunter
Activate one Hunter at a time, and gets 3 actions.
Each Hunter will draw and resolve a Day Vampire Activation card.
If a Hunter moves into a room with an Unexplored Icon, draw and resolve an Encounter Card.
Each of the Hunters you are using will do the above.

Vampire
Draw one Day Activation card and resolve.
Acts upon the Day Activation Cards the Hunters drew from a deck (see above).

NIGHT~
Vampire
Draw Night Activation card and resolve.
Acts upon the Night Activation Cards the Hunters draw.

Hunter
Activate one Hunter at a time, each gets 3 actions.
Draw one Night Activation Card per Hunter.
Rooms are now considered Explored.

Thanks!

I think you are drawing too many activation cards. See the back of the rulebook for turn structure. Also there is a game aid pdf you can download from bgg: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/159880/player-aid

In short, during day hunter performs 3 actions, then draws Day Activation card.
During nite, draw nite Activation card first, then hunter performs 3 actions.

It's maybe easier to think of it in terms of hunter activations.

Each hunter gets to activate each round, taking three actions.
Each time a hunter acts, they must also draw a vampire card.

Daytime phase:
The player draws the vamp card AFTER their hunter activates.

Night phase:
The player draws the camp card BEFORE their hunter activates.

I think you're doing it right, that's how I'm playing it too.

From the rules :

Alternating Activation Phase – Day: The current player activates their Hunter, then draws and resolves a Day Vampire Activation Card for the Vampires, or

Alternating Activation Phase – Night: The current player draws and resolves a Night Vampire Activation Card for the Vampires, then activates their Hunter

The Vampires are controlled by Vampire Activation Cards. A card is drawn each time a Hunter activates. There are 2 decks, one for use during the Day and one for the Night. Both sets of cards are the same format with similar instructions.

EACH Hunter Activates, Draws One Day Activation Card, performs all necessary functions, completes their 3 actions.
Day Activation Cards drawn- 4 (if using 4 Hunters).

Vampire AI will play during The Activation Card being drawn.

After the Hunters/Vampires are finished, the round is repeated.

Correct?

At Night, the rules stay the same, except the Vampire player goes FIRST, drawing a Night Activation Card, follow the instructions on the card, after which the Hunters then do THEIR 3 actions.
Night Activation Cards Drawn- 4 (if using 4 Hunters).

Am I getting it?

You've got the night phase.

Day phase should be:

- Players choose who goes first
- Player 1 activates their hunter and takes 3 actions.
- Player 1 then draws a vampire card and follows the instructions (spawn, move, eatacks, etc)
Players choose who goes next
-Player 2 activates their hunter, etc
-Player 2 draws vamp card and follows instructions, etc.
Keep going.

The only reason I post this is because of the order of your sentence. You state that the hunter activates, then draws a vamp card, then takes their actions. That is incorrect.

There is a YouTube vid that, while old, does a very good job at taking a person through the basics.

Night phase sounds right.

Here is a quick way to know you are drawing the right number of cards (the responses to one card for each Hunter activation is right). When you sort the cards during setup there are exactly enough activation cards for the rounds on the clock. So, say you have 3 day rounds on the clock and have 4 hunters. You should have 12 day activation cards. If you have 4 night rounds and 4 hunters you should have 16 night activation cards. This is also a great way to make sure you actually drew a card in case you forget. For example, at the end of day round 2 you should have a total of 8 day activation cards in the discard pile.
