Subject: What happens when you did not defeat a monster? rss

If you move into a dungeon tile and youre attacks aren't enough to kill the monster after resolving the 'before battle' ability.

Do you take a wound or nothing happens?

Ie. You have enough attack to defeat a monster, but the before battle ability says discard a random card. It happens a weapon was discarded, now it is not enough for you to defeat the monster. Do you take a wound?

You would take whatever damage the monster would inflict.

These answers are correct. For reference...

Page 10-11, section 4d and section 5.

4d. "Whether you defeated the monster or not, receive wounds ... and resolve "After Battle" effects (both required)."

5 "If you did not defeat the monster, nothing else happens; skip this step..."
