Do you want to purchase the biggest army of miniatures in the world ?

Then show up at this event:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5633631/Military-toy...

250,000 figures to be sold.

Approximate value about 10,000 Pounds UK (seems a bit low), according to the article.

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

I'm going to have to save that link to send to my wife the next time she complains about my miniatures collection.

I just did ... before I even read your post ... now, where's the emoticon for rolling eyes to give you an indication of her response ...

Wow.

Better for me to have several thousand 1:72 plastic miniatures I can actually play with than a quarter of a million collectible figures gathering dust.

However, I could always use another thousand assorted U.S. cavalry, Sioux warriors, and Apache tribesmen.

It always saddens me to see an enthusiast's collection- that gave them so much pleasure in life- being disposed of, regardless of whether it's sold off for good money or just thrown in a skip.

Yeah, but this one's getting enough attention, and it has people who understand it. It's going to end up with people who love and appreciate it.

Train up your sons in the ways of the miniatures gamer, and know that your collection will go to someone who loves it when you're gone.

Train up your kids of any gender.

And the neighbor's kids.

When I go, I'm leaving behind my collection to the Games Museum.

Thinking about how that only postpones the inevitable for a few more decades just makes it even more sad.

Yeah, and die-cast airplanes...it's more of a toy collection. I'm with Pete, HIS is a collection I admire!

We are now at that point in the auction when everyone tactically tries to convince everyone else that the item is not that great and not worth so much, and honestly not worth bidding for at all, so everyone (else) could just as well go home, there is nothing to see here.

Well,

the last time a guy had to unload such a vast collection, this is where it was put after the auction.

Respect. Awesome collection. Even I can only get into the tens of thousands when it comes to figures and mine are primarily used within board or tabletop miniature games. I can empathise with his dedication to his hobby and collection.
