Hi
I have been printing off a few free PnP games and note how some fare better in the original B&W and some are really more attractive once BGG members have shaded/coloured them (a lovely example is VeritasEtLuxus' treatment of Utopia Engine, I think).
I was wondering what approach BGG members have to 'pimping' an original B&W design to colour. What general tones/mediums/styles/accents influence them?

influences would be personal taste and cost.
some fun ones to check out would be all the personal takes applied to Micropul. I think I like those so much because the game works well just as a quick black and white print, its a great starting canvas.

For me the biggest cost is time. I have next to no artistic talent so it takes me a long time to apply my own artistic touch.
