I was just reading the "Korea" thread in the Historical Context Forum..
and discussion was drifting toward "RSP"...
A North Korea Gulag Game would be bags of jolly fun!
Given the structure of the Communist Party of the PDRoK
Different cadres would seek resources in order to fulfill the goals of the Supreme Leader or for more immediate cadre needs.
Food, oil, tech, labor, various production,
within the auspices of secret police, counterespionage, security...
Oh the possibilities!
But, GULAG "uber alles"!!!
Slave labor is a crucial economic process in Human history.
From before the enslavement of "The Trojan Women" to the mining of rare-earths and gold today.
Heck, everything I wear is produced by Slave Labor!
Slave Labor is everywhere!
If you question that last statement...
Remember The Four Freedoms:
Freedom of speech
Freedom of worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear
So what we have in North Korea (that critics say is an "obstacle" to "progress") is a sublime optimization of The Perfect Society...
...that can produce effective intercontinental ballistic missiles (space program?) and thermo-nuclear Weapons (controlling cosmic forces)
... in the presence of famine, crushing poverty, ignorance, jingo-istic nationalism, extra-national sanctions, etc.
The North Korea Gulag Game would be an exciting educational metaphor for the manifold historical expressions of the exploitation of Primate biology and intelligence! (laboratory monkeys included).
Imagine the gaming conundrums in rounding up suspects, stealing labor from other departments, avoiding denunciation, control of typhus and communicable diseases, hiding "things" from extra-national visitors, transportation and "resettlement" of "resources",
...the cost, construction, segregation and layout of facilities..
Meeting production goals! Humongous Army! Humongous Parades! Propaganda victories everywhere! Unity! Joy! Praise! ...and possible execution by anti-aircraft gun! (FliegerabwehrKanone)
And, play as The Supreme Leader's sister! ...or cousin...and execute generals for extra points!
Si non potes reperire Berolini in tabula, ludens essetis non WIF.
Hey, get your stinking cursor off my face! I got nukes, you know.
I felt compelled to comment.
"Only two things are infinite; the universe and human stupidity....
....and I'm not certain about the universe." Albert Einstein
I was going to comment but I've decided to pull out at the last moment.
We can build one right next to the Big Beautiful Hotels.
