I'd do more solo gaming if I could find a program for my iPad that would let me run a game without an internet connection and save my place in the game.

A program to track PBEM games would be useful, like Cyberboard.

Anyone know of such a thing on iOS?

Sure it is. Digital boardgames. It sounds like he's looking for something like Vassal or Battlegrounds Gaming Engine, but that runs on iOS.

Try looking here for something that meets those requirements.

Usually I play CS:GO. It's a perfect game, as for me, to play online and offline. Shooting things are fun, esp when you play in a team. I often play with my friends through https://dreamteam.gg/csgo/teams platform as it's convenient. And tournaments are awesome.
