It seems to me that particular messages can be more easily obtained in the 2-player game since there are twice as many messages per player and four colors to choose from. I'm perfectly fine with the 2-player version being different in this way, and take it into account when I'm playing, but what if instead of using 16 messages in a 2-player game, you used eight messages, two each of four colors? You would place them only on the spots closest to Notre Dame.
The makeup of the messages could be random (i.e. three rats, two cubes, two gold, one 4-pt.) or you could balance them out to have two of each.
Alternatively you could use only the eight messages from both player colors but still use all four boards, placing the messages in the spots nearest Notre Dame.
I haven't tried either idea yet.
Any thoughts before I do?
