Now that I think of it ...

If it's acox/Beren, whether it's likely or not, we've already lost - since pilotbob voted for mrfan and left, even if Jedit / mrfan / me vote elsewhere, LHLV is locked.

So barring pilotbob's return, any discussion today is at best going to be carry-over into tomorrow.

No, best-case would be mrfan as the only wolf, and discussion therefore meaningless paranoia.

I get the point that in the world where whirling was a wolf, we are not at must lynch, and in that world noob is almost certainly a wolf, because aumerle wouldn't have put themselves in harms way.

And if we are at must lynch, and noob is the wolf, then farren is good, and so either the wolves are exactly nets, jedit, noob, or a wolf is bussing noob.

So from jedit or nets perspective, they do not lose today if they vote aumerle, but they might if they vote noob.
Except of course that the bussing wolf could snipe and it's game over.

Yeah, I don't think jedit's argument goes fully through.

Good point about the snipe.

[unvote all]

Jedit, this was what convinced you to unvote, yes? If mrfan's Evil, that was a major case of shooting himself in the foot.

Unless he thought he could gain more from bussing, which is probably true if the red team is Nets/Noob/Fan. If all three of them had been on Aumerle and failed to lynch we'd have been on them like a shot.

No, it was a fine idea. Not lynching wouldn't narrow the pool as whoever died would already be confirmed Townie. The only way lynching is a bad move is if Bob is lying and there are two wolves alive.

I think at this point we just need to stop second guessing ourselves and go with Ockham's Razor: there is one wolf and it's among Acox, Beren and Fan. My only problem is that I can't rule any of them out. If it's Beren then I will be very pissed off, though, as he'll have taken huge advantage of being missing for most of the game then contributing a single half-drunken splurge.

I don't mean lynch vs. no-lynch; I mean having next lynch today as opposed to tomorrow.

I'd say we owe Nets an apology ... but this is Mafia/Werewolf, so we don't. He did get unlucky in being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, though, which sucks. If Tanner had been a known evil then Nets probably wouldn't have been lynched so inevitably there.

I think we got kinda lucky on a successful vig shot, as well. This game could have gone either way on the basis of that.

GG guys, congrats good!
One thing I will say is that I don't think it was a good idea for BG to claim on the day Nets was lynched. Bob can't get a save that night, but he can the next night, and if he gets a save there good gets an extra lynch.
I think it's better to just choose your top lynch candidate for the day, make sure they're not the bodyguard, and then just lynch there so you never lynch the bodyguard unclaimed.

Agreed, I didn't want to claim, I didn't see a reason to claim. But, several wanted it, so I did it.

Yea, that was mostly my fault. Sorry!

It did make sense to me at the time, though I can definitely see the argument to not claim there.

But Aumerle was always going to be the Night Kill that night - so the real variable on whether or not bob was going to have to claim BG was whether village was willing to consensus lynch a different claimed villager on D4.

In other words, claiming on D3 and claiming on D4 are functionally the same.

So I'm going to throw in some "new guy" logic here - I think mrfan's best chance of winning at that point was to NOT kill me, kill acox or maybe Beren (the strongest good reads irrespective of my checks and my biggest supporters since I claimed - I'm leaving pilot as the BG out of this) and try to completely break up the idea that I was real seer and invalidate that world. I'm actually talking starting N2, but it might have even played on N3 - of course then he'd be running up against the possibility of getting his kill bounced by the BG.

I know you might be thinking that it wouldn't work but I think he had a greater chance of playing that card than getting acox lynched over himself, which he would have had to do eventually, even if he could have pushed a Beren lynch in D4. And in an Aumerle seer world he can't kill acox that night (assuming he pushed a Beren lynch through on that last day) because then it would just be him vs confirmed goods).

Neither Farren nor Jedit fully believed me in D2 and I think I only really got to that point *because* I'd fairly obviously been targetted by for the night kill after noob died. (Obviously they could speak to their thought process better than I, but I was actually worried about being left alive, especially that last night) If that had happened... I don't think it's clear that I would have been believed. In fact I think Jedit might have thought I'd "checked" him to get him on my side. I could have read that wrong, but that's what I was thinking at the time. Even on D4, if I'd been left alive the previous night I could see the villagers feeling like they had to kill me to make sure, which would have at least bought him an extra day.

I'm not saying this would be a good play most of the time, but with so many confirmed goods, I think his only real chance at that point is to try to break up the band and throw some doubt on the entire Aumerle seer world. *shrug* Just my 2 cents.

I think there were a combination of factors here that make that play less likely to work - notably the 3 deaths on N1 prior to your counter followed by 0 kills after your counter which further sold you as real to bob.

Fan was banking on Bodyguard being dead and only needing 2 mislynches to win. He got one in Nets and had a strong possibility in either Beren or Jedit (before you viewed him).

Mechanically speaking, your scenario might have worked, that it was a world that fan could have sold - but it also would have led to a clear dichotomy between you and him once you did view him.

This set does open itself up to scenarios like this though. My personal favorite potential play in this game was if they could have gotten a mislynch on D2 following the vig shot on whirling. But village wisely (IMO) solved the dichotomy between the seer claims instead.
