--- Saturday, December 8th, 2018 (13:00 - 23:00) ---

Time for another installment of BOG day. Hope you can join us for Episode V...

Important details...
This is a day of board games (open gaming format) that we are hosting at our residence. We have 4 tables available for gaming. It is an informal and friendly gathering. Here are the details you need to know about the event:

01. Even though this is open gaming, we are okay if folks want to schedule in some games. Only two of the four table can be scheduled at any one time to make sure that the event does not become fully scheduled.

02. if you can see this posting, you are welcome to attend. Only say you are coming if you are indeed going to attend. We can only accommodate about 20 people so please do not take up a spot if you are not sure if you will come. Sign up by sending me a private message indicating the times you will be attending.

03. This is a friendly gaming environment. Uber-competitive behaviours do not really fit our vibe.

04. You are encouraged to bring a snack for sharing if you like. We will have some snacks, pop, water, and coffee available. Bring any other beverages you desire.

05. 13 years and up for attendees.

06. Be respectful and courteous. We are happy to let you know that we run an "ism" free house. NO racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, etc. It is important to us that all feel welcome and safe.

07. We have about 275 games to choose from in our personal collection. You are also welcome to bring your own games to play.

08. You can bring alcoholic beverages to the event if you like, but realize that you must know your limits. We do not tolerate drinking and driving.

09. We have not finalized what we are doing for dinner yet. We may order in or find some pre-made meals to cook. You are welcome to bring your own. If we order in or provide a meal, you are expected to chip in.

10. The hobby is very fun and rewarding and is made better when great people gather.

11. Please bring $5 that will be used to make a donation to Carmichael Outreach Inc. (Let's pause to reflect and assist those who are not as blessed). Kathy and I will match the donation on game day. We are passionate about making our world, and our community a better place. If you are one of those people that wait until the last moment to commit, we are cool with that, but the charity fee is $10 for late commitments. (All signups Friday or later are in the $10 category - that is cool; more money for charity).

BOG Day V is in the books. That is our last BOG Day for 2018.

The BOG Day concept started for Kathy and I last spring. We have dropped a bit out of the public gaming scene here in Regina and still felt like we wanted to do some hobby outreach. There is something magical in bringing people together with the intent to have a fun day and initiate the bonds of new friendships. We really enjoy mashing all of our social circles into one group and seeing the broader group congeal into a community. It truly warms my heart.

A day of glorious accomplishments...
The pyramids were built, the world of Ethnos was explored and settled, dice were forged in fiery furnaces, underhanded contracts were awarded to contractors in the construction of neighbourhoods in Neustadt, adventurers quested in the bustling city of Waterdeep, barnyard animals made strange noises, strange gizmos were built in secret labs, money was lost and won at the horse races, early immigrant groups fought for political control of Tammany Hall in New York, Moose braved crossing a raging river, and Colin Farrel was honoured by a group visit to Bruges.
...a very busy day!

We had 14 people, (15 including Theo), come play boardgames and through a $5/$10 fee raised $75 for Charity

Special thanks to Greg Vallee and Shane Vallee for providing Chili, Meatballs, and buns for a meal. It was very tasty. Also, thank you to those who brought snacks to add to the snack table. Attendees donated an additional $50 for the meal.

A total of $125 was collected and Kathy and I matched that in order to make a $250 donation to Carmichael Outreach Inc. Thanks to everyone who shared in our day.

We look forward to hosting you all again at the next BOG Day in the new year!!!
