This weekend at GameHoleCon we were able to pick up 4 decks for demoing the game (there were 4 of us). One of the decks had a maverick in it (Relentless Assault for Logos if I remember correctly). I'm wondering, how rare is this? Anyone else getting mavericks?

I'm very curious about this as well.

One person mentioned hearing from some FFG-related source that 1 in 300 decks were expected to have a maverick. It was also reported (second or third hand) that it was theoretically possible to have as many as 2 mavericks per house, so 6 total in a deck.

We have seen (at least) one deck that has 2 mavericks. We also know that rare cards (like Restringuntus) can be mavericks.

So far, I have seen or heard about 25 maverick cards, 1 of which has been spotted in 2 different non-native houses.

At the pre-launch event I attended at least 4 of the 12 decks had Mavericks.

I have four decks. One of them has got 2 Mavericks (posted my list on Facebook already. Mavericks seem to mess up the assignment of cards to houses on that list - 3 cards are wrong...)

From the ~230 decks I've seen being openend at various preview/prerelease events so far, only 2 had mavericks, so from that I'd guess roughly 1%.

What is a maverick? I can’t tell from reading this thread what those are.

One could by reading the rules . Those are cards that appear "out of faction". For example, you geht a "Mother" which usually is in Logos, but now it's in Brobnar.

In the prerelease event I attended this came up when a couple people already had left. From the 6 remaining decks, I know of 1 maverick, the mars 9 power taunt creature that comes into play stunned as logos. Yxilix something?

I've heard the ratio 1 in 40 thrown out.

I love that we can conclusively say that the odds of a deck having a maverick are somewhere between 1/3 and 1/300
